Update!!

Cars will be checked in, weighed and measured the morning of the race.  We will be checking cars in starting at 11:00 and cut off all check ins at 12:30.  You will have time to adjust your car during that time, if necessary, to bring it within the right specs for the race.

All adjustments to the car must be done by 12:30 in order for your car to race.  If it does not fit within the Pinewood Derby specs, it will NOT qualify to race.

To save yourself from major last minute changes to your car, you can weigh and measure your car at Tim Ishikawa's house, prior to Race Day, with the "official" race scale.  The scale will be available at Jerry Rothery's house on Sunday, Jan 22nd and again at the Pack meeting, Jan 26th.

There will also be an opportunity for parents and sibilings to race their cars.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!!

The clinic at the Isihikawa residence has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control.

Jerry Rothery, a former member and Committee Chairman for the Pack, has agreed to let us utilize his stash of tools to help us cut and create our cars for the big race.

To ensure adequate time, safety, and supervision for each age group, we ask that the boys try to arrive during their group's assigned time as follows:

10:00 - 12:00 - Tigers
12:00 - 1:00  - Wolves & Bears
1:00 - 2:00 - Webelos

If the time doesn't quite work for you and you'd like to show up a bit later than your groups time, that will be alrightWe just want to try to space the boys out so they're not all trying to cut at the same time and so the younger ones have a bit more time for their first car.

Rules:

1. Safety first.
2. There will be no child care. All children must be within 10 feet of their parent at all times.
3. No throwing of any kind.
4. No horseplay. NO JUMPING ON THE TRAMPOLINE.
5. Wear cloths that you are willing to throw away afterwards.
6. No long sleeves, necklaces or bracelets for the boys.
7. Closed toe shoes only.
8. Have fun.

Violation of rules 1,2,3,4 or 8 will result in ejection, possibly without warning.

Please bring:

- Your pine car kit.
- A coping saw or other suitable hand tools, if you have them.
- Any spare decorations, stickers, paint, weights, wheels, or other parts to share.
