We've been having some problems with bogus accounts being setup. These accounts are not setup by anyone in the Pack and are frequently used to spam the site. To help combat this you must now correctly answer a "captcha" when setting up a new account. A simple math question must be answered or you'll have to type the words from an image.

Additionally I've deleted many suspect accounts. In the past I've occasionally chosen poorly and deleted some real accounts. Sorry about that. If you find that your account has been deleted, please just create a new one.

Last January I told my son Jonathan that he would have to pay for the Midway, the cost is $85 per person. He started collecting cans and bottles from neighbors and family. I am proud to let you know that he has raised all the money for his ticket as well as mine. That is $170 in nine months. I am letting you know this, not to brag, but to encourage you.  It is not too late, ask around I am sure you have neighbors that will help you raise money for a scout trip.

The 2009-2010 estimated budget has been uploaded under Treasurer's Reports and the minutes from the last commitee meeting are availiable under Secretary's Reports.  You must be logged in to view them.

You may have to clear your browser cache or click on the "refresh" button in your browser, but the photo gallery previews shoue be working OK now. If you have any problems or questions, please let me know.

Fixed a bug with the "Upcoming Events" for users that are not logged in. The countdown timer was stuck a few days behind schedule. It's better now.

You can now be notified by email when there is new content.  If you want to, an email will be sent to you once day that will a list of all the new events or comments to the events.

Enabling the notifications is pretty easy. After you've logged in with your user account, click on "My Account" on the left. Then click "My Notification Settings". From there you can enable the "Master Switch" and the "Notify New Content". Choose what level of detail you want in the email, as well as if you want to be notified about new comments for the events. If you want the notifications to stop, just disable the "Master Switch".

By default you will not be sent notifications.

If you have not setup an account for yourself, you can not be sent notifications.

There was a problem with the photo gallery login. If you've had problems logging into the photo gallery, please try again. It should be better now.

We've successfully moved to a new web host and installed several updates. Photos uploaded to the Gallery are no longer scaled down to a low resolution. All new photos will be available in their full size and resolution. This means that they're suitable for printing. There are now links to shutterfly and photoworks so you can send them directly to be printed, or download the images individually or in a zip file. You can also add photos to the shopping card for bulk downloading or professional printing.

 

If you just want to read the calendar or look at pictures nothing has changed.

 

If you notice anything wrong with the site, please help me out and let me know. Odds are I just don't know about it.

 

If you have a suggestion or an idea about a feature you'd like to see here, please let me know. Some of the things I'm considering and working on: mailing lists, automagic email notification on site updates, email forwarders (TigerDenleader@Cubscoutpack134.com, Cubmaster@Cubscoutpack134.com, etc), a video gallery, a less ugly look and feel of the site, and ways to make the site generally easier to navigate.

 

Executive summary:
 

- The site has been upgraded and updated.
- We have "a lot" of space.
- The photo gallery has some new features.
- Now is the time to make feature requests.

We've moved to a new host. This is a major upgrade in space and (probably) speed. Some things are not yet working.
